Don't Be Luke-warm!

and to the angel of the church laodiceans write,

These things says the Amen, the Faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:

I know your works, that you are niether cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and niether cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth." (Revelation 3:14-16)

I love this quote. I have always been a spiritual person, but there has been times in my past where I have praticed other religons. In other words, I was cold. Now that I am a Christian, I have gone (or at least I have tried to do my best) to become hot (like a fire) for Jesus.

In my experience, it is often-times those who were from the occult and then become Christians who are more on fire for God than those who have lived as a Christian all of their lives. Maybe it is because they feel they have a lot to catch up on, maybe it is because of the awesome grace and mercy of God, maybe it is seeing evidence of God in peoples lives. Perhaps this is why Jesus said that he came for the sinners, and not the Pharisees.
